A cuppa a day …

Recent research* has shown that catechins in green tea significantly reduce both total and LDL cholesterol (LDL cholesterol is the ‘bad’ cholesterol).

Tea is made from the leaves of the plant, Camellia sinensis.  There are 3 main types:
Green – made by quickly steaming or heating the leaves to prevent breakdown of the catechins.
Oolong – this is more processed than green tea, but is not processed for as long as black tea.
Black (fermented) – made by further processing of leaves, including exposure to heat, light and crushing.

At Avedissian Natural Health we often use the Camellia sinensis herbal extract to help lower cholesterol, boost fat burning, reduce liver toxicity and as part of the program in our cancer support program.
