Winter Foods!

As mentioned before it is good to eat foods that are in season – they have a higher nutrient content, are fresher and usually less expensive!  It also means more variety in your diet.  Try something different from these winter season fruit and veg:

Fruit:  Apples, Bananas, Custard apples, Grapefruit, Kiwi fruit, Nashi, Lemons, Mandarins, Oranges, Pomelo, Quince, Rhubarb, Strawberries, Tangelo

Vegetables: Beetroot, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celeriac, Celery, Chinese Cabbage, Fennel, Jerusalem artichokes,  Kohlrabi, Lebanese cucumbers, Leek, Olives, Onions, Parsnips, Potatoes,  Pumpkin, Silverbeet, Spinach, White Turnip
